Excuses (Part One)
I should send this log in as a multioperator, because Murphy was sitting
beside
me the entire time it seemed. I lost 2 out of 3 rotators. A ring rotator
failed
to stop, and ripped the coax out of my second radio's tribander, so I was
forced to use a single radio for most of the contest. I lost two hours
Saturday
morning climbing towers in damage assesment, hoping I could convince the
rotors
to turn. No such luck - C.A.T.S. here we come...
Sounds as though the WRTC organizers and ops did a great job! Hard to believe
the QSO totals for 100 watts and small antennas.
I had fun chasing the WRTC stations, but it obviously hurt my score as
compared
to past years. I spent time chasing the 1x1s rather than IARU mults. I worked
all but K6E. Got the two wildcards however.
As always, this contest is one of the best in my opinion. 24 hours
is just right, and the ability to work domestic and DX stations for points
makes
it a challenge, and it never gets too slow.
This is to certify that in this contest I have operated
my transmitter within the limitations of my license and have
observed fully the rules and regulations of the contest.
