Glenn (WA0PUJ) bought out the tower and Philystran stock
of a now out-of-business Minnesota ham radio dealer, and
most of it is up in his yard. All the verticals are Rohn 25
and the 3 big towers over 150' are Rohn 55. Still, Northern
Minnesota is not the place to be two days after a major
geomagnetic storm!
Friday was horrible, with only 70 Q's in the log at 0300Z.
The weekend gradually improved, things back to normal by
the end of the test!
Our packet link to Minneapolis and beyond was down most of
the weekend, so the mult station was not too exciting. 10M
was checked constantly and just did not open.
WA0PUJ is off to HEARD ISLAND in a few weeks, and his shack
is littered with esoteric maps and books that only a DXer
would find interesting! He should have his new Vanity call by
then hopefully.
