Thanks to Fred Lass and his family. Thanks to YCCC President
Tom Frenaye K1KI and Paul Young K1XM.

This was a great honor for me to activate the new YCCC Club
callsign. I never met Jim, but he has touched my Ham Radio
life as much as anyone. Plans called to expanding my 2 radio
technique to include more hardware but still ultimately have
             two radios in
the headphones and select one TX. Since we'd only see two or
three bands open at a time, there would be less tuning up and
more making points. This is perfect in theory until something
             happens!

Fred and I had the covers off of all three 930 before the
start as well as the 76! I had to re-wire the new controller
too ! We were all set moments before the start. Fred had
turned the big low 3L 40 and the two 20M Cushcrafts earlier in
the day. Start was slow in the first few minutes but heated up
when I started surfing thru 20 on the second radio ! VY1JA in
             first half-hour !

             It got worse!
I started to get sick! Too much travelling during the last two
weeks and no rest really made for a tough time. Running to the
bathroom etc. Made CLEAN SWEEP at 0401 Z !!!!!!!
But.....by 0700 I was losing it both in the bathroom and
toward the pillow. Decided to hit the bed and sleep. Got uo at
11:15 with a raging headahce. Did not get on the radio....back
to bathroom, then re-set alarm for 45 minutes more. Alarm went
off....still bad headache and go going. At 1900 I was sleepy
again (headache and all). Slept another 45 minutes and felt
like a new man. Made a BIG push for the final goal. Only DG
and Fred have seen the WIZ in this mode of operation!

In retrospect, this was the first -CW SS- event that I felt
like I really was surfing the activity. It's surprising to see
a level rate throughout! Much can be attributed to the K2TR
             station.
