We activated the Stones River ARC club call for this one at my shack.
Equipment used was modest: TS450SAT into wire loop on HF. TS711a into
8 el. vertical beam at 10 ft. ;) for 2m. Object was to get potential
contesters on the air and familiar with contest operating and logging,
to have a good time and to promote TCG, TQP and SRARC. All missions
accomplished without even a visit from Murphy.
High Points:
Being called by ZD7JC on 15m. Closing out the log with a JW9. Ron,
KF4GNV making the best run of the contest on 40m in response to my
invoking the "5 minute rule". The high local participation on 146.55.
KF4GKN bringing Whitt's barbecue to the contesters.
Low Points:
More participation from non-TCG TN stations would be nice for next year.
Contest only lasted 7 hours.
Thanks to all the folks looking for us Tennessee stations. Look for
K4FUN next in the Sweeps SSB as a M/S.
