My first Stew Perry. My impressions of last year's contest, from Tree's
write-up, was that propagation was great. My impressions of this year's
propagation is that it wasn't great. First, the figures:

Call: NB1B Class: Single Op Power: 100Watts Time: 12+ hours

220 QSOs 1079 QSO Pts Mult of 2 Total Score 2,158 pts

Xcvr: IC 765 Barefoot
Antenna: Full size 4 square in a salt water marsh, 290ft European beverage

Best DX: 4X4NJ (18)
Next Best DX: KH7R, RW6BQ (17)
Third Best DX: RW3PZ (16)
Fourth Best DX: LZ3AB, YU7AU, UY5BA (15)
First European: RW2F @ 2315Z
Last European: LA0CX @ 0725Z
Continent Breakdown: QSOs Countries
Africa, So America 0 0
North America 173 3
Asia 1 1
Oceania 1 1
Europe 45 22
Totals: 220 27

Loudest signals I heard that couldn't hear me: N6RO, K6SE, K7RAT. All 3 were
audible for 5-6 hours over the night, but I couldn't even get a ? from them.
I never did work a W6. Couldn't get any of the above stations no matter what
I did, but was able to work KH7R with one call. Go figure.

Loudest European throughout the night was S58A, close behind were UW2F and
DJ7AA. One European got real excited when he copied my call as "N6JB". It
took several minutes to set him straight and he was much less excited.

I thoroughly enjoyed the 98 SP. I'll be back for more next year.
