I had planned to use the W6BA super
station for the contest, but when I got there (after 2 hours of
driving) they told me im not allowed to use the station. So I had
to drive back home (another 2 hours) and didnt get here until 2320z
I didnt have the station all set up until 0009z, so I missed the
first few minutes. My amp hasnt been working for a few weeks now,
so I had to go LP. Only being able to run 80 watts really hurt,
I was beat out on plenty of occasions. Nobody heard me on 80, but
ive become accustomed to that. The only positive thing this weekend
was that I got to use 2 radios for the first time in the sprint. It didnt
help all that much the first few hours because nobody was hearing
me on 40 at the beginning, but the last hour it helped out alot because
80m was in really bad shape, so I was able to tune around on 40m l
ooking for new q's there too. I made 26 band changes. Last september
I had 334x43, and I know I could have done alot better than that this time
around.
