First time attempting to use two transceivers. Noted that I spent more time at
S&P and less running. The country and zone totals were great. If I did not take
the 8 hour nap on Saturday the numbers would have been better. It will take
time getting use to having two differant stations, one in each ear. I did not
realize the ability of the mind to filter signals when using both ears. It
really confuses the brain when there are two dissimilar inputs. It seemed that
the JA runs were not there, only used 100 watts and lost concentration hopping
between radios. 37% Europe, 23% Asia, 21% South America. Ten was truely wall to
wall Sunday morning. I have never heard so many signals. Everybody ran up to 10
meters leaving 15 vacant. It did not really matter, the bands to Europe were
open for most of the contest. The deep Asians were booming in all night on 20
and when that closed there was an opening directly over the South Pole. Even
Long Path to VK/ZL. Reminded me of 22 years ago. I wish the participation was
better. It seems a lot of the little pistols have bowed out. Not many ZL's and
only a few VK's. Maybe the news of this conest will encourage others to
participate. Europe and South America do not need any incentives they seem to
sustain a healthy level. See everyone in the CW contest.
