Soapbox:

This was another "baseline" effort to judge future contests against, as I
slowly put a station together. With a tribander, a multi-band
ground-mounted vertical, some whimpy wires and 500 Watts, I still have a
long way to go! But I decided to give it my best shot and see what I
could do with this setup.

Not being sure what to expect, my goal was to break into the zone 4 top
ten "box" this year. This score would have put me 4th in that box last
year, but since it seems scores are up a bit, I'll be very happy just to
make the top ten cut for the zone.

I really wanted to try to stay up for the full 48 hours, but I didn't do a
very good job of adjusting my sleep in the days before the contest.
After making a bunch of silly mistakes, I decided I'd be better off
getting some sleep the second night. With several other 10-15 minute
breaks, I ended up with perhaps 42 hours operating time.

Thanks to Mark, N4OKX, for allowing me to borrow his TS-850S for the
second radio! Due to inter-station interference, nearly all the second
radio Qs were made on a ground-mounted Butternut vertical!
