Comments:

As in past years, Doug, W0AH, operated the first night (15 hours) and Paul,
KF7MD, operated the second night (13 hours) except for the last two hours when
Doug took over. With static the first night, Doug was 217 contacts shy of his
1998 results.
The second night, a quieter band made our line noise, a persistaent problem
all fall, our limiting factor on receive. Paul worked about 40 more contacts
than last year, but was asleep at the keyer at 5:30 AM local time when Doug
went to the shack to operate the last two hours. Paul figures he was asleep
about 30 minutes with the keyer calling CQ! Did anyone call us during that
period?
We missed NL, NWT, and VI. DX worked was FS, JA, VP5, VK, XE, and ZF.
Poor JA opening. We worked only 2 JA this year compared to 39 last year. No
Europe worked; two heard in noise. No South America heard.
We had fun despite poorer conditions and a lower score than in recent years.
Improvements planned for next year- a new fist for Doug and a string attached
to Paul's head AND an alarm and transmitter shut off valve.
We'll both be operating the Stu Perry from our respective stations.
