Comments:

At the half way point, I was on my way to a personal best score, then the ice
storm came zooming in and all the SWR's went crazy. Ice stayed on the antennas
for 14 hrs., so I missed all the good 80 and 160M operating periods. It was
interesting that on the C-31XR, 15 meters went bad first , and then 20M and 10M
followed about and hour latter. For some reason the 40M vertical was the only
antenna the ice did not affect. Guess that's the trade off I have to live with
by living on a ridge in WV. Another lesson learned: I will never again be the
turkey carver on Thanksgiving. I got careless with the knife and jabbed my
index finger on my left hand making it difficult to manipulate the tuning dial.
Oh well, I had a great time in the contest anyway, and it really was nice to
get some rest while waiting for the ice to clear.
