Only DX heard was VP5K. Also heard nothing from New England. Tried QRP for
first 1/2 hour and couldn't work anything over 1000 miles, so gave up on that
and used LP for rest of contest. Was surprised to be able to hear stations
over 1000 miles away at 3:30 PM local time. The contest was much more
enjoyable this year receiving with my new Beverages vs. last year when I had to
listen on the 90 ft top-loaded transmitting vertical. K0RF and W7RM had
outstanding signals here.
