Last record breaking year I missed the both WPXs(CW&SSB), so I cannot
compare. But thanks to some good notes(W4ZV,etc), I can feel it.
Thought I could not make my personal best score on the first day.
But in the end I could break my personal record in '99(5.3M),
thanks to interesting solar activity and the latter better &
interesting condx.
Total: Condx on the second day was better. More Q's and better rates.
10m: Very slow starting. Some nice EU/NA runs on the second day.
As always FM illegal DX QRM from south to southwest made me
crazy!! (very hard to copy, tough & struggling, so need patience
for this torture!)
15m: The band opened for hours. Some great/rare unexpected openings/
calls gave me a smile. What a nice surprise !
20m: Not had a good NA run during usual nite path, but had once good
EU run early in the last morning.
40m: The band is not so important from JA or RWU, even a double point.
Far from other continents means no real run and not so effective.
They(JAs) don't give me any run when I even call CQ in Japanese.
80m: Same above. Only tried W6/7 run for 25 minutes at their sunrise
on the first day.
Neighborhood: 61-JA, 44-DS/HL, 27-BY, 6-BV
Not so many JAs as usual, more DS/HL/BY/BVs than '99.
I wish more DS/HL/BY/BV and no more decrease in JA !
Now very busy every two or three weeks major contest season was over
for me unless I enter JIDXCW High Bands and ALLJA(the biggest domestic
one).
It was also once in a ten-to-eleven-year time experience.
At the same time once in a lifetime period for me to have a time with
my kids who play with a daddy.
Life's too short for the RADIO !
Wish I could have two bodies or will do my best SO2R(Single Op,
Radio & Rear or 2 Roles)!!
So now time to take good care of the family and to play skiing with
kids this weekend for the last one this winter.
Sorry guys today I don't write here "CU all this weekend".
They just started to play well this season at skiing ground
(not at "Daddy playground" = KQ2M said).
And now we are looking forward to our beautiful cherry blossom in late
April to May here in northern Japan, then I will miss the snow and
static :-).
