Comments:

We were in the Dominican Republic for the second year on a family
vacation. It is a really nice country and has not yet been found by to
many tourists from the US. Most visitors are from Zone 14 and 15. This
year because of school vacation it turned out that we'd be down there for
part of the ARRL phone contest. We had to leave on Sunday morning and a
full effort was out of question. I also didn't want to ignore the family
and had to balance my time. CT said I was on the air for 18 hours.

The place down there belongs to my friend OE5EBO and is just an
outstanding vacation place. A big thanks to Erwin for letting us use his
wonderful house and station down there for the second time.

The station is located only a few hundred yards from the ocean on the
north side of the island. Basically salt water from the end of the boom
all the way to the Florida keys!

The setup is a 75 foot tower with an M2 7&10-30LP a sloping dipole for 80
and I rigged up an inverted L on 160 with no radials if you can believe
that. The rig is an Icom 756 & PW1 amp and I used the drake MN-2700 tuner
that helped me to satisfy the PW1 on 160 with my poor antenna.

It is really cool to be spotted on packet. Thanks to everybody for working
me. I hope that you got the HI3 mult since I made it a point to go around
and ask all those serious guys where else they would need me. Needless to
say I had to QSY a lot. Sorry if I missed you or just couldn't hear you
in the pile up's!

The Telecom office in HI is very nice and easy to deal with. I did all the
licensing by phone and fax. People are very helpful down there! Thanks!!

Also a big thanks to KC1F for letting me use our ECC club call. Stu helped
me with some paper work. QSL's direct only he says. I couldn't use my call
because KC1XX was on from home as a M/M. They did a super job and I hope
everybody had a good time. Congrates to W3LPL for a good win. I guess I
have to stay home next time. <(:-)

Two signals that really blew me away were W4ZV on ten and NO8D on 40! You
guys scared me when you called.
