Comments:

I had intended to operate QRP at 25W but I ended up coming in to the shack
well after the start of the contest and forgot to turn down the wick! Thus LP
 not QRP. IC-706MKIIG, 100W to 4el on 6m and 50W to 13el on 2m. Six was wide
open FN03bm to Gulf Coast and Florida at the start of the contest with those
on the south side of Lake Erie coming through on the same path with enhanced
tropo. The skip went as far west as EL18 and EM21 and then about an hour
later
started to shorten to EMx5's and 4's. The tropo improved to FM19 adn FN20 an
hour later. Around 23z the NE path opened to a bunch of FN25 & 24 plus rarish
FN05. Maybe I just got around to moving the antenna! The rest of the evening
was strictly LOS. A few QSO's were made on 2m as far as FN21 and FN00.

The morning started with a 6m opening to the east coast, FN31,34,41,43,44,95.
This was followed, an hour later by an opening (tropo?)to FM07, FM08, and
EM85.
While trying for some more of the east coast, which was still audible, I was
called by W6OAL off the back of the antenna (Thanks Dave!) which alerted me
to
the fact that there was propagation west. Worked a cosy little group of DM78,
DM79,DN60,DN70 at which point I was called by FN14 off the back of the
antenna,
another rarish local grid. That could even have been back-scatter. I couldn't
hear him on the direct path. Six gradually faded away and 2m was dormant so
other than a single local, the contest ended for me at 15:35z. Couldn't get
to
 10,000 points!

Thanks for all the QSO's guys. It was a pleasure to participate.
