Comments:

I've often said that I start the constest season with the California QSO party,
but in reality it has started the past six or seven years with SAC CW for the
very reason already stated by others - terrific operators. I had planned to get
on only for a few hours to play with my newly automated SO2R, but condx were so
good, decided to make another honest effort. Initial opening on ten was scatter
from almost due east, but quickly opened on a direct path. Didn't think I was
going to work any of the folks on 80 with low power and dipole at 60 feet or so,
but worked SK3W fairly early, and had four others with good ears in the log
before I called it a day around 03Z. I figured WRTC must have established some
interest in the contest because stateside activity was certainly up, and a good
number of the stations heard were over in OH for the event. Great to hear two
OYs and a TF active. Again, a most enjoyable contest! 73 de Larry K7SV
