Comments:
I don't think there is an official category for out of state mobile, but that's
what I operated.
Sunday my wife and I went to visit our daughter at Ohio University in Athens, a
3 1/2 hour drive. To make the trip less boring, to get in shape for next
weekend's Road Warrior assult on Pennsylvania (hint, hint), and to pass out some
qsos to the deserving W6's, I put the radio in the car and borrowed the Mad
River Radio Club call, K8MAD.
Once the sun came up in California, it made for a fun time. I got in 2 1/2
hours and 100 qsos on the trip down, 30 minutes and 30 qsos while my daughter
and some friends took advantage of transportation for a trip to the local
WalMart, and the last 15 minutes of the contest as we started home.
To keep the setup simple, I did not take the computer, sending CW by hand and
logging on paper with no dupe sheet. Therefore I worked a few more dupes than
normal, but I trust anyone I duped would prefer two qsos to none.
Hope to see lots of left coasters in the PA QSO Party this weekend. We'll be
out in about 25 counties on Saturday only, barring any last minute plan
changes.
