Comments:

Alex, LZ4AX, operated his first Phone contest (stateside) from our K3CR station
and unfortunately, there were a lot of things not working. We thought that
everything was working until we showed up on Friday afternoon and then we found
out that we must have had some lightning hits again.

Here is what was not working:

10M top rotator indicator quit - being replaced with a Big Boy that we just have
to install.

10M stack switching not working and erratic - was useless and had to use Log
Periodic at 100 ft after trying to use 10M stack a lot of the weekend without
being able to hear stations calling.

Lower Log Periodic had high SWR in LP stack - was useless.

15M middle TIC ring quit and antenna would not turn - stuck to Northwest.

New 80M colinear dipole array at 180 ft was stuck on CW and would not switch to
phone - was useless. Had to use an Inverted-V at 100 ft aiming SE/NW.

20M top rotator (Yaesu 2800 DXA) indicator became erratic and would not indicate
properly (pot must have been hit by lightning).

Something happened to the NA box in the two radio setup and was erratic
switching back and forth.

Alarm failed to go off on Sunday morning correctly and Alex slept extra.

At least the other equipment and switching worked OK.

Lots of repair to do for CQWW CW.

Even with all the problems, it was a pleasure once again to have Alex operate
here and he is really learning the ropes of stateside contesting. He is going
to try SS this coming weekend and of course CQWW CW.
