Operated again from the dry salt lake bed using a balloon-supported full-size
vertical. Rig was a de-clicked FT-1000MP driving an Alpha 76CA to 1.2 kw
output. Station (located in a tent trailer) was powered by a 4 kw gasoline
generator.
Band was very quiet with stations from the east coast being worked well before
sunset on both nights. However DX condx were not as good as last year's
contest, resulting in a lower score than last year.
It was great to hear Herb, ex-KV4FZ on again with his new call, NP2MJ.
