After watching an interview with Kasparov, I could only imagine
Deep Blue or Baby Blue operating the Sprint. No emotions. At all.
Three-mintue gap with no QSO? "So what?" says the machine. Got
beat out AGAIN in a pileup? Machine says, "Next." Missed that
call at 45WPM? Not Baby Blue. Of course the Blue Boxes cannot
feel the rush of sequential couplets pushing the rate and adrenalin
into the Red Zone either! Or the thrill of passing the 300 QSO mark.
It's just another number to Deep Blue. Thank goodness for the grey
"wetware" between the ears. It just wouldn't be fun without it!
Conratulations to the winners, especially W4AN's record 400+ QSO effort.
Condolences to the contesters and their families who have lost loved ones.
