Comments:
First I have to thank Howie, N4AF, and his wife Lynn for having me over for the
weekend.
This was the first time I've been able to operate from an awesome station as a
single op. Even though conditions weren't the greatest, the runs were good and I
had a blast.
15M was pretty neat on Saturday morning. There was tons of asians coming in
early one, but a big Europe run never really happened. Some rare ones called in
throughout the contest. On Saturday night, and A35 and T30 answered my cq at the
same time!
I really enjoyed the early 20M openings to Europe around local sunrise. From
home all of the Europeans are whispers for me at that time. It was a different
story with eight elements almost 100 feet tall pointed NE.
Now I'm spoiled. Four towers and directive antennas on 80 through 10 meters sure
makes my TA33JR on top of my house look laughable!
Equipment:
FT 1000MP and Alpha 89
80M: 4 square
40M: 2 elements at 140'
20: 4 element rotatable yagi at 100+ feet, 8 element wire yagi at 85 feet
15M 4 element rotatable yagi at 115'
10M 4 element rotatable yage at 85 feet
also a KT34XA for 10-15-20 around 90 feet
Thanks for all of the qsos.
73,
Nate/N4YDU aka NR3X
