Comments:
First contest with a directional antenna of any kind -- a tribander with rotor
suspended between two trees. Had to swap E and W in all bearings, but it worked
okay! Enjoyed hearing many areas that I haven't been able to before, and
actually worked into UAE and parts of Africa. Too bad I took the antenna down
right after the contest. Mentioned it's going to be hard to go back to Wire
antennas again -- my wife replied "Guess you'll be taking them all down then?".
Smart one, she is.
80m was a surprise, it's not a band I use that much. I am intrigued by 160. NR6O
provided my only contact there. It seemed easier to work into South America on
40m at night than the US. Was pleasantly surprised with TI5N called ME on that
band. Got 5 bands worked with quite a few folks. Missed nr6o only on 15M.
My wife certainly dreads contest weekends now...
Thanks to all who heard and worked me. I'll try not to mess up the "Mode" blank
on any QSL cards I send out for THIS contest (Sent out a batch of cards saying
CW for phone contacts for the Sprint, very embarrassing).
