Had a lot of fun on my first real "in the field" FD in 20 years. WX was
perfect, abnormally cool for a Central TX summer day. Operated from my "future"
retirement QTH about 90 Miles west of Austin, TX. First time with "real
antennas" since I bought the place 3 years ago. Jay's 14 year old son & friend
came down - the extra help was nice to have.
Rig: TS850S 100Watts
Antennas: Cushcraft A4S @ 26', 40M inverted vee just below yagi - both on a
pushup pole. 20M Extended Double Zepp @ 20' on a PVC mast.
Power: Honda EU2000i Inverter, used maybe 2.5 gallons of gas over 24 hours -
And quiet to boot. A great little machine.
Laptop PC with TR log.
Condx were rather poor; 20m & 40m carried the load until the last 3 1/2 hours
when 15M finally opened up.
Score includes estimated 500 bonus points.
