Big fun to operate ZA1A and hand out the AARA HQ Mult after quite some time. We
are very thankful to our host Geni, ZA1B and Martti, OH2BH who made this trip
possible.
Goal was to reach 3000Qs. After we reached this we headed for 2 Mill. points. We
came very close but 5! power cutoffs in the last hour prohibited this.
In Albania there is no electricity in the WHOLE country for several hours each
day! They simply do not have enough money for import (there is hardly any export
...). Our hotel had a big generator but sometimes it took some time to switch
over to the generator.
ALbania is for sure worth a visit! We'll be back in Albania soon ...
We used 2 stations:
A: IC746 with LA-1000 amp, abt. 400W on 80/40/20/15m, 100W on 160/10m
B: TS450 with Alpha 78 amp, abt. 800W on 20/15m, 100W on 10m
And we shared the following antennas all more or less @ 20m hight:
80m Dipole, 40m Verical, 20m Vertical, 15m Vertical, 6ele yagi 20/15/10m (2ele
on each band on one boom).
