Comments:

I had plans to be mobile again in Ohio but things just didn't work out so
decided to see what I could do from out of state. 40 Meters was very good from
EPA during the day but as the evening wore on, skip lengthened out and I could
hear very few OH stations. My last 40 Meter mobile contact was at 0214. I did
what I could on 80 but my low antenna just doesn't hack it on this band. I also
have an aversion to operating on 75 meters with all the mannerless jerks there.
Too bad about condx on 20 Meters. Never heard a single mobile there.

The mobiles made this contest and their efforts were very much appreciated. The
OQP could use a little more in-state fixed station activity, although I know
getting these stations on is not the easiest thing to do. They don't know what
they're missing.

K8MR was consistently the loudest mobile, with the W8CAR team next. I really
appreciated MR's willingness to make quick QSYs to phone. This was probably the
main reason why I had such a good phone multiplier. If the other mobiles
realized how easy this can be, they would probably be more willing to change
modes. Nice to see that KJ9C made the trip in from the west. His activity was
very welcome.

My goal this time was to beat WA3HAE's 2002 score and it looks like I barely
managed to do this, but I didn't realize that Jim N9JF was in there racking up
such a big score. I hardly ever heard him. Looks like he's the winner this
year. Congratulations, Jim. Also kudos to K5OT for a great CW only score and a
big mult. I seem to have missed Crawford, Madison, Defiance, Seneca and Perry
for a total of 83 mults on both modes. Looks like nearly all 88 counties were
on the air - an impressive feat.

Hope to be back on the road in Ohio next August. CU in the PAQP from W3USA/M
and if possible from IL the following week.

73, Hal W1NN
