Below average conditions on Saturday (but not too bad), average on Sunday. Did
better than last year, but not as good as the year before. Biggest hit on the
score was the lack of rovers worked. NE8I/R skipped the microwave bands this
time around so that was the biggest hit. Also didn't hear WW8M who I easily
work on all bands. I think he skipped the contest this time around. Highlight
of the contest was working K8TQK in the last few minutes of the contest.
I was going to get 3456 MHz going this contest, but never got around to
installing the stuff on the tower. I did hear K8MD with the xverter and yagi in
the shack, but his front end is blown so he couldn't hear my mighty 1 watt
output. Zero points on 3456, and only 1 QSO on 10GHz.
Only DX was vio meteor scatter. Completed 1 SSB and 2 FSK441 random QSOs
easily. I tried moving one FSK441 op to 2m, but it was incomplete after 1 hour
(he never heard my report). Maybe that should count for 1/2 a point :-)
