I used all wire backyard antennas during the contest. My best luck on the high
bands was with a 44' ladder-line fed doublet with lobes pointing east-west. 15M
SSB band was so quiet it was almost eerie. I would call CQ and voices would pop
out of the ether from nearly anywhere - Montana, Alaska, Lithuania, Hungary, you
name it.
