Comments:
Just a bit better than my last 15m venture in 1998. The flare on Sunday kept me
from my 1M objective. Started taking breaks at that point to keep fresh while
waiting for more action. The VK's just never penetrated to here. Closest
encounters were ZL and 4W. First UA9 was on Sunday as well as first Scandinavia
opening.
The old 5el Telrex monobander at 75' keeps on trucking. TS-950SDX and AL-1200
did the rest. 800' foot elevation over Lake Ontario to Africa did a great job
out there. That was usually the best direction for back-scatter as well. Thanks
for all those W1,2,3,4,8,9... that I worked on that mode and all the other W's
off the back of the beam!
