Comments:
Operating time was limited this year. Mother-in-law had hip fracture surgery at
age of 95 on Saturday morning. We had a house full of out-of-town relatives for
the weekend. I had to play (and lose) a tennis match on Sunday afternoon.
Missed only NT and never heard one. Operated through the solar flare with no
QSOs form 1715 to 1739 UTC. Already knew I couldn't use up my 24 hours.
FT1000MP, Alpha 78, QSK 1 kw output, TH6DXX, dipole and zepp for 40 M, inverted
vee dipole for 80. Still need to do some antenna improvement on 40 M. Didn't
fee l strong there at all. Short skip was great on Saturday, but bands went
long earlir on Sunday. 80 M was probably more productive than it has been for
me in past years at W4AN. Probably because I hadn't worked as many stations on
40 M before going to 80.
Thanks for all the QSOs and hope to work you all again on SSB.
73,
John, K4BAI.
