I knew I was in for a bad weekend when I showed up at the contest QTH at
midnight and found the driveway littered with tree branches and antenna wire.
Dawn revealed my wire beams on the ground. A few hours with my slingshot and I
was ready to go with a droopy G5RV. With half an hour to go I discovered my rig
would only put out 30 watts. Murphy had struck! The highlight of the contest
was having VY1AC answer my CQ on 40M. I can't believe I missed AB,NL and PQ.
Still , a great contest.
