Where were the JAs on 40m Friday night????????????????
Called CQ and Searched & Pounced for 7 hours and only 8 QSOs. The band was open
and no problems working the few that were there.
After that, I came very close to going home but checked 15m right before
leaving. THe band was hopping. Lots of fun working stations on 10m and 15m
with Brad's new Force 12 antenna. Life can't get much better with a nice
antenna, my favorite Alpha and lots of JAs to work!
As always, the courtesy and good operating skills of the JAs make this contest a
dream come true for me. Nice to hear and work old friends.
Nevertheless, couldn't manage to stay for the second 40m "opening" to Japan.
This has always been my favorite contest and look forward to it all year.
Unfortunately, the new shorter hours cut out 2 days of high band openings for
North America.
