Amazing conditions for just this side of the sunspot peak. The solar activity
of the last month has done wonders for HF conditions. Conditions on 160m were
pretty suppressed, though, due to high absorption.
Great job by all the team. We ran with a minimal crew this time out. Thanks to
N3RD and W2RQ for making the drive up from PA and NJ, respectively. Dave N3RD
did a bangup job on 15m and RQ on 20m (with K1GQ). Amazing jobs by W1FV on 80m
and K1AR on 40m! And Matt did a great job on 10m despite shorter openings there
than in the past.
Claimed score is just higher than our U.S. record (24.5M) but the usual stuff
that comes out of log checking will probably reduce our score to below the
record. We never imagined even coming close to the record...it isn't 1999
anymore! Many stations came very close to breaking records this weekend.
Thanks for all the contacts and for all the DXpeditions who went out this year.
QSLs for new band/mode contacts will be out some time early next year.
