My first ARRL10m away from home.

Would like to thank Caiper PY3KN, Miguel PY3MM and all the members of the
Parobe' Radio Club PY3MHZ for make this happening.

I operate on top of a 25 floor Government Building in the center of Porto Alegre
(RS).
We could enter only on Friday at 20:30 Z so we have got only a few hours of
light for install the antenas.

My idea of 2 antennas (2 el. delta loop) could not be realized in the short
time, so I used only one delta loop and one vertical (all antenas home made).

Have got not enough time to adjust the SWR and as it was too high for my
Solid State linear amplifire, I started the contest operating low power (I had a
small antenna tuner that could support only 100 watt..........).

Noise level of S7 did not permit me to hear the week signals so please apologize
me if I could not hear very well.

After 2 hours I have got only 90 qso in the log and as the band closed, I
decided to go outside, in the dark, and adjust the swr of the delta-loop.

Switched to High-Power at 06z started calling in a hope of some Long-Path qso's
to Europe but could not hear any signals in both days from EU Long-Path.

Fortunately the Noise level went down to S3 and so I put much more qso's in the
log.

I was missing the good runs with Europe short path that I have got 2 weeks
before at PT5A in the CQWW CW but have got a good one with US in the second
day.

So, the propagation was not really a good help but I enjoyed very much working
in this contest.

Thankyou very much to all the hams who called me in the contest.

QSL route via N1IBM

See you later.

73's and Happy 2004

Simone IV3NVN
