Comments:

WOW!! How completely different a year makes, with this 10M contest not at all
like 2002. Friday night I had a good run of U.S. stations while beaming
southwest up until about 0500z, while last year I was beaming northwest for the
usual Asian run. Didn't even hear my first JA until Sunday afternoon, and I
doubt I heard more than a few. I heard the east coast working EU on Saturday
morning, but nothing could be heard in NM. My beam is usually pointed northeast
in the mornings, but I was hearing more with it towards the Caribbean! What
weird propagation and openings this year, but that's what I've always enjoyed
about 10 meters. It has been my favorite band for the last 37 years because you
just never know what to expect. The A and K indicies were very high this year
with the SFI continuing to fall, so I really didn't expect to work more stations
than last year. I just worked many more multipliers last year with about 150
less Q's. This year I worked more African stations than both Europe and Asia
combined, which is very weird! For a casual contester, I did have a fabulous
run midday on Saturday, working almost 700 Q's in 4 hours averaging 171 per
hour. Sunday was not quite as good, but averaged about 142 per hour for about
3.5 hours. I did QSY to CW for a few stations, and always enjoy breaking up the
monotony of SSB with a bit of CW in this contest. Thanks for all the Q's, and
hopefully this was my last 10 meter contest from NM.
