Comments:

With brutal winter weather in the North East, combining the vacation with
operation in the CQ WW 160m CW Contest seemed like a good idea. I also wanted
to verify some of the aspects of half sloper performance at the salt water beach
frontier. Not being sure of the baggage security and transportation handling of
delicate ham radio equipment I packed just Icom 706 MKIIg and a spool of wire.
License was obtained, room with ocean view on the 9th floor of Wyndham Nassau
Resort was secured and half sloper from the balcony to the palm tree on the
beach was strung. Running 100W in Low Power category I still managed to beat the
World Record (only to find that D4B cleaned my clock :-). More detailed story
and pictures coming up on www.K3BU.us web page.
Thank you for the QSO and help in evaluating the antenna, CUAGN from the next
operation!
