Comments:

It was good to get back into the contesting chair again, if only for 10 hours.
I echo Jeff's (NX9T) comments, the contest started out fairly slow with what I
was expecting, or maybe I should say "wanting". I had a good first hour on 20
but then the second hour was real bad and I wondered if I wanted to continue. I
had just re-hoisted the 160 Mtr Inverted L back up into position on Saturday
morning and wanted to see if it still worked so I continued on for its sake.
The pace did pick up some once I went to 40 but if it hadn't been for the SO2R
and me constantly "mining" the second radio for additional Qs my score would
have been very dismal.

While the 100W format of this contest is good in keeping down the disruption on
the bands and tends to level the field a little I question how much power I am
actually getting to my antennas on the higher bands. I have two 700' runs of
hardline going to the tower to support the SO2R setup. One being 7/8" 50 ohm and
the other 3/4" 75 ohm. I guess I should actually do some testing at the tower
end to see if I need to upgrade that setup.

Overall, it was fun and I want to thank K1RX who stood by on his 15 meter run
freq while I tried to complete with VY1JA on a schedule that just happened to be
planned right on his freq. Thanks. See you all in the upcoming season from the
W4RM Multi 2 Station. 73, Jack W4NF
