Other than the low band static, the conditions were great.
160M Static Crashes results in new beverage antenna
Peter and Mike see a DEER (not a Dear) walking through the field, carefully
avoiding the Beverage Antenna
Operators - Peter and Greg, fail to hear the Thunderstorm that is almost on
top of us due to headphones.
PW1 and Acom A1000's amps work like a charm!
VA3MW working a ZS at 2am Local Saturday morning and 20 minutes later I work
a ZL, both short path.
We install a complete CLX Cluster station at the barn, connected to the
outside world via 1200 baud packet. Transmitter never stops. 24,009 DX
spots are recorded by CLX Cluster - VA3MW. How can you do this contest
without the cluster unless we ALL go without it. That will open a new can
of worms.
Almost DXCC on 4 unique bands (4 short on 40M and 7 short on 10M) - would
have likely achieved 100 on 10 if the mult station computer hadn't died.
Multiplier computer died with a few hours to go.
Icom 756pro dies first night, put in spare Icom 756Pro. Icom 756Pro dies second
night.
Go home and get the trusty old Kenwod. Runs like a charm for the rest of the
contest.
