Comments:
I decided it was high time to put the station back together, since contest
season had long since started. So at t-minus three hours, I began that process.
I never did finish it, but at t-plus 1 hour I figured I had better get a move on
so I jumped in. That hour cost me dearly, it turned out, because of the
atmospheric events of Sunday. I didn't get to work VY1JA on 10 or 15, and heard
him on 20 but weakening, so I decided to wait for the next afternoon -- and of
course conditions never allowed me to find J again.
Yes, it was all about 40 meters. It didn't help that the 20m beam was still on
the ground (though the tower for it is complete) and the 80m 4-square only half
built. Nonetheless, I beat my previous high (which it turns out was the LP
record for MDC, though I hadn't realized this).
Meanwhile, thanks to everyone for a great weekend. See you in SSB section and
especially in CQWW CW.
73,
Maury W3EF / G0UHK
