Family obligations only permitted limited operating time, but I had fun during
the 10 hours I was able to operate. Too bad there were no real openings to
Europe from western Kentucky.
The only way to make QSO's in this contest was to point the antenna south and
work the backscatter, the Caribbean and South America. I even worked a few
Europeans on backscatter. When I turned the antennas NE the few Europeans I
heard would disappear. Very strange propagation.
