Dave:

On coping this to the 3830 reflector, IO think it has come to a point where
everyone can learn form our "experience". Let me explain why I say this.

I checked on what you said about moving 10 up or down. I have never used
this feature, I was not even aware it existed (what is it good for?).
anyhow. I use since about 6 months a mini keyboard (one without numeric
pad), which is great as it saves a lot of space on the desk.

Well there is no numerical pad so no Pg up or Pg down, but you can emulate
these functions by playing the acrobat. There are the arrow
left/right/up/down keys, and if you press the special key Fn then these
apparently become Page up and down. I never use these arrows, why would I
tune with these keys, I have the remote pod next to the keyboard and that is
very handy.

So, indeed, the software makes it possible to jump 10 kHz, but to do so I
would have needed to press the FN key (left bottom of the keyboard) and the
up arrow which is on the right side of the keyboard. It is possible, but I
consider it "unlikely". Another possibility would be a glitch in the
software that triggered that function???

Funny thing is that, if I "jumped" down 10 kHz, I landed on an apparently
clear spot, where somewhat later (could have been seconds or more) I heard
you just on the verge of my passband, and that was why I was convinced your
were drifting (moving) up..

It was not my intention to insult you, and if you had that impression,
please excuse me.
Maybe we both learned from this. At least I learned that there is what I
think a crazy function that makes your frequency jump 10 KHz at a time.
Wonder what that could be good for.

Were you monoband 80, and how was your experience (besides our little clash,
hi).

Best 73

John, ON4UN
