Comments:
I really wasn't supposed to operate this contest - but, at the last minute, my
good friend K1LZ, Krassy Petkov, (VY2LZ) had to cancel out due to a business
trip to Los Angeles - he had planned to do a single-op allband entry as VY2LZ.
Too bad as condx were pretty good.
With Krassy unable to come up, I was unsure whether to do a single-band entry
(perhaps 160 or 80) but in the end decided the only real thing to do was to
attempt a single-op allband entry to see what I could do. Judging by the condx
on the lowbands, I think I made the better choice going allband - although the
lowbands were pretty good - especially on Friday night.
Up here this far North, I felt that 15M never produced much of an opening on
SUNDAY - although 15m was excellent here on Saturday. 10M was suprisingly
interesting on skew and extended sporadic E - wisps of signals everywhere - but
some of them were really tough QSO's - in and out of the noise in seconds!
Many thanks to all the old friends who called in for a QSO - it was much
appreciated. UA9AYA was LOUD on four bands - 80/40/20/15 - as always! Hope to
CU Willy here for WAE CW in August.....
CU in the next one - GL to all.
