Lots of fun, appreciate the NA contacts knowing that we DXs don't give any
multipliers in this one.
Rig: IC746 / 100W
Ant 40-10: Inverted-V
Ant 80: 6m / 18ft vertical
Early Saturday had gorgeous weather and I used the opportunity to climb out on
the roof to check my antennas. Found some critical things that were about to
break and I fixed. If I hadn't been planning the NAQP and left this alone I
would have been in bad shape here when winter shows its face again (yes, winter
is still in full swing here in Iceland).
The 15m band was open for the first hour or so, but then it was down to 20.
Forget 10m up here for now. 20m were open to the eastern part of NA in the
first 3 hours, then it went silent for an hour and finally opened up again for
the western part for another 2 hours. Managed a few 40m contacts at the end and
even one 80m on my broomstick.
Thanks for a relaxed but entertaining contest. 73 - Kris, TF3KX
