I missed the last couple years of this contest. Boy, I don't remember conditions
being this punk before. I got no serious runs going at all and early Sunday
morning was brutally devoid of many signals. I called CQ against a background of
static well beyond the point of wanting to tear my hair out. This contest is so
much different than ARRL DX When conditions are marginal...Europe is not very
hungry for US contacts in the last hours of the contest. This year it really
made for an excruciating finish.
