Comments:
I had an awful time. Thirty minutes into the contest
I lost the hard disk on the logging computer (the nice
old solid box with all the serial ports, RF shielding,
etc.). It just spun down, then up, then down, and
so on for the rest of the contest. Sounded like an
old-fashioned police sireen. The CPU went crazy
trying to recover the disk. This made WL keying
sound as if I were drunk, and log entries lagged
my keyboard by several characters. Yikes. Thanks
for putting up with the awful fist. I promise to fix
it before CQP.
Worked W6YX and W6OAT on six bands, and
many others on five. You know the propagation
is poor when this small-lot station does better on
80M than on 15M, and better on 160M than on 10M.
Thanks to all who QSYd for me, and especially to
those who tried to move to 15M but failed, notably
N8II and AE1Y. When I got to 15M, AE1T wasn't
there, but KH6/W3GW was. Serendipity.
