This was my third full CQP effort. I have gotten kind of hooked on
this contest, it is challenging and fun. It also has been a good
contest for finding out what needs to be fixed here at the station
before the big fall contests. In the past I have found this contest
to also be a good chance to work on my two radio skills but this time
with only one band open it was a bit harder to do much two radio stuff
and as a result it was hard for me to stay focused and excited about
operating at times.
The NCCC has done a great job in making this contest a lot of fun to
operate in by pumping up all of the CA stations to get on the air and
make a lot of noise.
I was not expecting much out of 10 meters this year but I was not
expecting 15 meters to be a near total washout. I put up a bigger
better 15 meter antenna the weekend before the CQP and the first QSO
I made on it was K6AA who was 40 over S9 and he was running 100 watts.
He give me a smilar report - to bad that was 6 days before the contest.

Thanks for all the contacts and congratulations to VA7RR @ VE7SZ on a
FB score. He and K5GA were always right at my QSO number all weekend
and kept me scratching for a few more contacts. I guess I need to work
on my CW skills as they both beat me on that mode. Maybe someday I will
learn the code.
