A dxpidition to pacific Beach, WA, to a cabin high on a cliff overlooking the
pacific ocean. with a dipole on the edge, an HG10 VFO. an HW16 driving a pair of
GG 813s (200w, any more out and the HV transformer hummed too loudly). for the
receiver i used another HW16, this one keyed in parallel with the first one but
without drive, so i had full QSK. i had a two radial inverted L for the
receiving antenna. both the dipole and the L worked equally well transmitting
and receiving. i have been makiing it to Qceania every two years for the past
6...........i hope to be somewhere exotic next year.
Where were the VKs? i did not work a couple that called me, becuase of QRM and
being old and feable. up on 40 i heard an N6/FO........no expectations to have
that kind go down to 80 or 160.
