Comments:

This was our second try at M/M in the CQWW since moving back to Texas in 1995.
Conditions on the 160, 80, and 40 meters seemed terrific and better than normal,
20 and 15 meters was about normal, and 10 meters was way, way down.

We had a mixture of experience levels and the operators all worked out their
bands to the best of their ability.

The basic lineup was:

160M - KG5U
 80M - K2UR
 40M - NA5TT
 20M - KI5DR & W5AJ
 15M - N5ZC
 10M - WA4PGM & NX5M

K5NA and K5DU did occasional filling in for operators.

I have come to the conclusion that it is impossible to really compete with the
east coast in the M/M category unless the sun spots are really at a peak. We are
better served here in Texas doing a M/S or M/2 and being able to move on to the
active bands because our European openings are of shorter duration. But M/M has
its appeal, especially the lack of worrying about the band change rules and
being able to really focus on a band.

Other than W0AIH, there are no other M/Ms in mid-America that we can compare
with and get a sense of how we did.

But all in all, I think everyone had fun here.

73, Richard
