first serious HP entry from new location with new 40m contest station
positive: new home-brew amplifier was very stable,
Negative (there is always some Murphy...hi): first night was heavily infected by
snowstorms with lots of lightning... the station was shut down for 3 hours.
Further on very regular local snowstorms with statics of still S9+10db in my
250Hz filters... terrible - I could already search with my directional antenna,
where the next clound is arround with this destroying noise...
Also negative: the operator needs really to learn CW..hi. Therefore only 1245
qso... cannot seriously handle pile-ups yet...hi
About Condx: in the first night something dropped the condx over the
northpole... in improved from early sunday - sunday evening very good condx with
big signals in most directions...
Missed: 5Z4 (too many crazy EU's...hi), CE and XE ...low condx first night,
highlight: ZD8A and ZD7R called in last contest hour !
