Comments:

There is something about the Thanksgiving holiday week that drives patients and
doctors into a frenzy. Usually the three day period before the Thursday of
Thanksgiving is the three busiest days of the year! And this year was no
exception. By Wed. evening I had put in 50 (yes fifty) hours and was beat. Then
the families descended on us for Thursday, and Friday was a regular work day.
Needless to say by 5PM on Friday I was not fit for anything but "veg-ing out" in
front of the TV. But got up a 5AM on Sat and got going by 7AM. At noon my old
med school chum dropped in from Little Rock Ark. and spent the afternoon with
him. Got back to it for a few hours Sat. PM but it was my 22nd wedding
anniversary!!! Sun got up at 5AM and got to it at 7AM with a couple of hours
off in the middle of the afternoon to go to the hospital. Anyway, 40M was
rockin and rollin here and 15 was pretty good too. I stayed too long on 20M on
Sat morn and consequently missed the best 15M opening. I fixed that on Sun. by
going from 40M to 15M and briefly looked at 10M from time to time but not much
there. Kinda disappointed in 80M, as I thought there would be more DX there. I
have been a Ham since June 2001 and started contesting casually in Oct. 2002.
This is my fourth CQ WW CW and my 32nd contest of any type. I only do S&P in CW
as I am not ready to call CQ! Thanks to K4BAI for all his support--it means a
LOT!! and also to W4VHF likewise. Club is Carolina DX Assn. Equip is IC 756
Pro II, Alpha 87a, Mosely Pro 76C at 100ft. and a slightly shorted 160M dipole
for 160, 80 and (when needed) 40 (the Pro 67C has 3 elements on 40). K3 keyer
and Writelog current ver. No packet or internet assistance. Very best 73,and
K4ZA was right when he said "The best way to learn anything about ham radio and
propagation is to sit in the chair and operate!" Amen Best 73 de KR4M Duren
Johnson "Bob in the contests"
