Comments:

The main effort of the weekend was operating W8ZA M2; this was just for
fun to see what could be worked. The WW in general is not a terrific
environment to shop for new countries unless you still need the easy
ones. EU and NA dominate the bands. I operated the first 3.5 hours
and most of the last 2 hours only from home.
I'd have to say 160M was the best I have ever heard it in the WW.
EI7M was S9+20db with 10db attenuator on around 03Z Saturday, only
GM3POI years ago (not in test) I remember being louder. But the loud
sigs were not as numerous as one might expect. No new ones were found
during the test on 160, but 5 new ones were worked in the week before
the test including R1MVW and TZ6MF who were there for the test. Sunday
at sunset sigs were quite good from the EU big guns, but the QRN
became horrendous by 2245Z or so.
80M was loaded with readable Europeans, many of which were S9 the
first 3 hours. Attempts at running on what appeared to be quiet spots
were futile except for NA answers, but most EU were worked with 1 or
2 calls. Sunday evening I found OJ0B for a new one and found 8Q7DV on
3570 with no callers semi-comfortable copy thru the heavy QRN from the
SW.

M2 from W8ZA: I was surprised the SFI was as high as it was reported.
20M closed early to Eu both days; running was too slow to help much past
1730Z Sunday. But, 20 was good for over 1050 Q's and on a few occasions
I actually had a pile-up up calling. I took breaks to work the packet
spotted mults most of which weren't too hard to work, but tried to keep
the CQ machine running as much as possible. On Sunday, there were very
few interruptions, very few new mult spots. Things were never slow
enough to search for mults on my own. Saturday, I worked the sunset
period on 40 into the evening and condx were definitely poor into Eu.
The peak was about at sunset and by 24Z most all of the Eu were gone.
The low 2 el shorty forties did not compete well, but we kept slugging
it out to catch the mults. A couple of run tries didn't work. 40 works
much better in times of higher solar flux from W8ZA. Many thanks to Bob
for having me up and the hospitality. Other ops were K8OQL, WD3A, and ZA.
