TS-940SAT, Alpha 78, 160 Half Sloper tied to tower at top (70').
It was nice having a "semi" resonant (2.1:1) antenna on this band for a change.
In the past I've always had compromise antennas and a tuner. I finally got the
sloper length and angle about right. Needed the large beam on top for a top
hat, but I'm in the process of changing things around, hence no top hat.
The noise was reasonable, not low. With no rx antennas, I could hear the big
guns and the second layer but nothing below that. The band was in the best shape
I've heard it since my limited experience with Top Band. I wonder what it would
have been like if I could really hear on this band. It was still loads of fun...
